Kuala Lumpur Islamic Finance Forum (KLIFF), held annually since year 2004, promotes Islamic Financial system dialogue among speakers and delegates to foster the orderly development of an efficient, competitive, sound and innovative Islamic Finance industry in a rapidly changing global environment.
KLIFF also provides a platform for the regulators, financial services players and legal professionals around the world to collaborate and contribute towards the development of Islamic finance. Participants are able to enrich their knowledge with the latest developments in Islamic finance.
KLIFF 2017 was held on the 3rd to 5th October 2007 at Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur. The opening ceremony was graced by His Royal Highness Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Al-Maghfurlah, the Sultan of The State of Perak and the Royal Patron of the Malaysia International Islamic Financial Centre (MIFC).
I was involved in a panel discussion in the Main Forum on the 1st day of KLIFF 2017. Our panel session was about Digitalization in Islamic Finance. Specifically, we discussed where Digitalization stands in Islamic Finance today, the Do’s and Don’ts and how to grow the industry through digitalization.
The session was moderated by En. Nazlee Khalifah, CEO of Affin Islamic. The two other panelists were En. Norhizam Abdul Kadir, Vice President of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Ms. Jagjit Kaur Ranjit Singh, Co-Head, Transactional Banking, Ambank Berhad.
Dinner and KLIFF Award Presentation was held on the night of the 1st day of KLIFF 2017. The guest of honour was His Royal Highness Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, the Yang Di Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan. As the highlight of the event, the founding president of Islamic Development Bank Tan Sr Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali Al Madani was bestowed with the Lifetime Leadership Award in Islamic Finance this year during the award ceremony.
