Islamic Finance for Board Program is an initiative by Bank Negara Malaysia for Directors of Islamic and Conventional Banking Institutions in support of the developments that have shaped the Malaysian Islamic banking landscape over the past three decades. The organizer is ISRA Consultancy Sdn. Bhd.
The programme aims to activate Islamic banking innovations as a board room priority of financial institutions, emphasising on a clear understanding of differences in the value orientation and operationalisation of Islamic banking business vis-à-vis conventional banking. The programme which is mandatory for directors of Islamic banking institutions and their respective conventional counterparts within the same banking group.
The objectives are:
- Enhance Directors’ appreciation on the dynamics of Shari’ah principles in shaping different offerings of Islamic the banking business.
- Equip Directors with practical understanding on the value propositions of Islamic finance and its specificities vis-à-vis conventional banking with the aim of enhancing business potential.
- Equip Directors with practical understanding on the value propositions of Islamic finance and its specificities vis-à-vis conventional banking with theaim of enhancing business potential.
I am one of the faculty members of the program to talk about What is Next for Islamic Finance. Of course my forte is to talk about Fintech for Islamic Finance.
